Taipei Diary 6 - Eating @ Restaurants
Sunday, July 10, 2011

Taipei has quite a few themed restaurants, like Modern Toilet Restaurant, Jay Chou Restaurant, Hello Kitty Sweets - just naming a few. We missed out Hello Kitty Sweets this time cos we really had no time~

Dinner @ Modern Toilet Restaurant - which is situated at XMD. Luckily we called and made our reservation prior to going, so we didn't have to wait.

Sitting on toilet bowls, with basins as our dining tables.. Really interesting concept!

I tried the korean set meal, which is really no good.. :(

Eating from the toilet bowl.. Heh.

The set meal came with dessert ice-cream, which was shaped as poo! Again, dessert was not good as well... Food was not good at Modern Toilet Restaurant, but the set meals are not pricey. If I remember correctly, it's around $10+ per meal ba...

Me and Ivy, being 麻辣火锅 lovers, also lunched at this famous 麻辣火锅 restaurant. We tried making reservations for dinner, but they were fully booked for the whole week! So we had the lunch buffet instead... Costs around NT$300 per pax?

For the great variety of free flow drinks they had, we think its worth it to go!

They even had free flow of beer!

And a wide range of movenpick ice-cream...

... and Haagen-Dazs ice-cream... We had like dunno 3-4 servings of ice-cream? Haha.

I heart 麻辣 steamboats!!! :)

The wide spread of food they had...

... and the high quality of beef! Woot!

... they had tea as well..

I tried out their rose bud tea...

We've heard about 鼎太丰 as well and decided to check out the food... We ordered 小笼包...

and I ordered the cutlet fried rice... Hmm. The food is really similar to what you get in Sg.

And it was very crowded.. Staff were friendly though.

My fav no. 15 @ 鼎太丰 :)
