Been really drained and tired at work. Thus, when the request came along for a weekend Batam Retreat wif the colleagues, I agreed almost immediately! Who can resist a holiday temptation anyway.
SG$200 per pax. For a 2D1N retreat at Holiday Inn Resort 1-bedroom suite, c/w Breakfast for 2, ferry transfers and a 2-hour spa session. One cannot agree more that we've gotten a really good deal!
Wif programs like cable ski, shopping, go-kart, spa, kelong seafood dinner lined up, I was really looking forward to it!
But I must say, cable ski was really something that I (again) overestimated myself la. I thought the only challenging part was the balancing and the getting off part from the platform. Jeez. Actually the swimming part back to the shore is like damn tedious can! Especially wif the heavy board that you have to bring back to the shore as well! And its not like my swimming skills is terrific. And then.. Thank god it was a freshwater enclosed water lake lorr. Cos.. well, I'm really terrified of fish. (-.-)"'
Other than Sherris, the rest of the 3 of us always "superman" into the waters within the first few milliseconds leaving the platform. Heh. Its really damn tough lorr. Ended up, we came back to sg armed wif cuts, bubbles, blue blacks and definitely sore strained arms.. Helpz.
But hor, I really had quite an eye-feast over there. Wooo. The angmo guys are all so well-built and muscular! Heh. Not to mention some of the cute chinese guys over there.. I even met one of my ex-JC mates there, whom I didn't manage to recognize at all la. He just came up to me and asked if I was from AJC, turned out we actually studied in the same JC before. Makes me wonder, have I not grown any single bit for the past 10 years that he can still recognize me!?!
View from our room. On a lazy sunday morning. Perfect sun = Sun Tanning! I am tanned wif a bronze look now - I heart it! =) Lets just keep my fingers crossed that I don't peel. Ummm, I'm really applying lots of aloe vera moisturizer.. Lets just hope it helps!
It was in our priority list to have seafood dinner at the kelong. Its definitely a must-do at Batam. Food was cheap - Around SG$60 for chili crab, prawns, chicken, fish, sambal kangkong and a tom yam soup! Ate really to our full, and we were just in time for the sunset.. Nice one.
I must admit it was a good trip in general. The only drawback is that the spa venue wasn't an air-conditioned place. So much so that Debbie and I were sweating almost throughout the whole spa session lorrr.. (-.-)"" Kinda "off" in that sense la..
All in all, thumbs up! Wouldn't mind going back there again! =)
